Praying is not for WimpsYou
may be wondering why a seminar on praying is included in the repertoire of a
ministry focused on worldview. The reason is that the importance of
worldview is not simply to satisfy intellectual cravings. Every aspect of
worldview has a down-to-earth, practical application to daily life. When it
comes to the topic of praying, that practicality floats straight to the
surface. Think
about it. What is praying, anyway? Most would give some kind of answer to
indicate that it has something to do with talking to God. If that is what
you think, you have it partially right. But it is more than just talking
–– it is a profound communication. But before we go any further with
this, there is something else we have to understand. You
see, we all pray based on our own personal understanding or who it is we are
praying to. If you believe that God is simply that great Santa Clause in the
sky, your praying is going to simply consist of asking him for stuff. If you
conceive of him as a fearsome judge, you will always be begging for mercy.
If you think of him as some loveable “Daddy” figure, you will always be
looking to him for a warm sense of security. Now,
all of these images have some truth to them, but none of them give the whole
picture. Worldview gives us the whole picture so that we become able to
interact with God base on who he really is. This understanding is guaranteed
to literally change the way you interact with God. If you would like to explore the possibilities of how you can set up a training opportunity for your church, friends or marketplace colleagues, please contact MarketFaith Ministries at 850-383-9756. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you. |
